On the eve of Christmas and when she already had her mind set on her vacation, Catalina Gorostidi set off the alarm among her followers by sharing images and videos of an unexpected health problem. The former Gran Hermano contestant used her social media to say that she was going through a severe allergic reaction that left her "unrecognizable" and forced her to take extreme care.
According to Cata herself, the episode occurred shortly before she traveled to Punta del Este. In a video posted on Instagram, she explained that the symptoms began after an everyday situation that she did not imagine could lead to a reaction of that kind. "I went to get my nails done and, as the animal lover I am, I touched a rabbit. I had an allergic reaction to a rabbit", she said, still surprised by what had happened.
In the images, Gorostidi showed the visible impact of the allergy on her face, with her eyes noticeably swollen and marks that she tried to conceal with a filter. "Look at how my eyes are, and this is with a filter...", she commented, while she described the general discomfort she felt. The situation worsened as the hours went by and the influencer herself acknowledged: "I can almost not breathe, this is how we are", and then she summed up her condition with concern: "I'm getting worse and worse, worse and worse...".
In addition to the physical effect, the reaction had a clear emotional impact. In response to some messages she received, Gorostidi clarified that the swelling was not related to a sentimental situation. "I haven't been crying", she pointed out, while she explained that the shortness of breath and discomfort accompanied her throughout the day, even while she was trying to organize her trip.
