Starting this Saturday, January 3, traveling to the Atlantic Coast will be more expensive for motorists. The government of the province of Buenos Aires has made official a new increase in tolls on the main tourist routes, a measure that begins to apply right at the start of the summer vacation season and directly affects thousands of families who travel to the seaside resorts.
The adjustment applies to metropolitan access roads and to the corridors that connect with the Costa Argentina, with increases ranging from 7% to 10% depending on the section and the vehicle category. The update was approved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services and is effective immediately.
Route 2, the main access road to Mar del Plata and the Central Coast, shows one of the most significant increases. At the Samborombón and Maipú tolls, cars now pay 7,000 pesos per pass.
In the case of larger vehicles, the tolls rise to 34,900 pesos, which represents an increase of around 7.5% compared with the previous rates. These costs especially affect those who travel in pickup trucks, minibuses, or tourism-related transport vehicles.
