The Argentine Atlantic Coast closed the year with tourist occupancy levels close to 90%, driven by the typical holiday movement and an improvement in demand compared with previous seasons. The main destinations in Buenos Aires Province recorded a strong influx of visitors, especially during the last weekends of December, and they are beginning to show signs of recovery after a period of lower activity.
Mar del Plata, Pinamar, Cariló, Villa Gesell, and Mar de las Pampas once again ranked among the most popular spots for tourists. According to data from the Argentine Tourism Observatory of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT), the last week of the year showed rising figures:
- Mar del Plata exceeded 75% of bookings
- Pinamar and Cariló were above 80%
- Villa Gesell positioned itself as the second most sought-after destination in Buenos Aires Province, behind Mar del Plata
- Mar de las Pampas reached and exceeded 90% occupancy

The movement intensified particularly during the weekends, with crowded beaches, high consumption in food and beverage establishments, and greater circulation in urban centers, while in the following days the influx showed slight declines, a usual pattern at this stage before the full start of the season.
Aldo Elías, vice president of the Hotel Tourism Association (AHT), explained that "By the end of the year we noticed strong growth in the Atlantic Coast destinations, with occupancy that is approaching an average of 90%".
In that regard, he highlighted that Mar de las Pampas led the ranking with 93% of bookings, followed by Cariló and Pinamar, both around 80%.
