The detainee, an immigrant who arrived in 2024, remains housed in a hotel in Almería funded by the State despite having a record for possession of bladed weapons

The mass immigration and the total absence of control at the borders, under the socialist Government of Pedro Sánchez, are turning Spain into a scenario of impunity and terror. The situation in the province of Almería reflects the failure of this open-door policy. The most atrocious case of this socialist negligence occurred on June 21, around 5:30 PM, near the mouth of the Andarax River. A 44-year-old German tourist was assaulted inside her camper van by an illegal immigrant of Gambian origin who forcibly entered "armed with a knife and a stick".

The attacker not only attempted to commit rape but also delivered a "savage beating", causing her "numerous injuries and a serious facial injury". The providential intervention of a citizen, who honked the "horn of his vehicle" after surprising the attacker "half-naked over the victim", prevented an even greater tragedy.

The profile of the detainee is a vivid portrait of the system's failure: he arrived by raft in 2024, was initially recorded with a false identity as Senegalese, and despite having "records of apprehension for possession of bladed weapons," the Government kept him "housed in a hotel" in Almería until the day of the crime. This "use of different identities" and the "absence of effective returns" only fuel a "sense of impunity" and a lethal "pull factor".

The capture of the criminal also put the lives of our security forces at risk. After a "spectacular chase", the suspect entered the sea with strong waves, forcing five agents of the National Police to jump into the water to rescue him as he began to sink. As a result, the five officers had to receive "medical attention for the injuries sustained" due to the "poor cooperation of the fugitive". While the victim recovers at the Maternal and Child Hospital of Almería, it is clear that the immigration policy of Pedro Sánchez is not only ineffective but criminally negligent

According to the Crime Balance of the Ministry of the Interior, during the first quarter of 2026, crimes against sexual freedom have experienced an alarming increase of 11.7%, reaching 67 offenses. The most serious issue is the rise in sexual assaults with penetration, which have increased by 15.4% compared to the previous year, with an average of nearly five reported rapes per month in the province. Despite the attempts by the Ministry of the Interior to attribute these figures to a "greater social awareness", the harsh reality is that "foreigners continue to be overrepresented in these statistics".

The collapse began in 2024, a year of "historic record of illegal arrivals in the Canary Islands", with a total of 46,843 immigrants entering by sea. To "alleviate the saturation", the Government of Sánchez executed mass transfers to the Peninsula, relocating hundreds of these individuals to hotels and emergency facilities in provinces like Almería, where places were urgently enabled without thorough control of the relocated profiles.

The negligence of the socialist Government not only endangers Spaniards but also forces the National Police to act under extreme conditions. After the attack, the assailant attempted to flee into the sea, which forced the agents to "risk their safety" to rescue him from the water and proceed with his arrest. Police sources insist that this "policy of mass accommodation in mainland hotels" is facilitating the presence of dangerous individuals in national territory, reoffending in serious crimes while the Government of Pedro Sánchez looks the other way.
