June inflation was 1.8%, according to the Córdoba Grocers' Center
The moderate upward trend continues, with attention focused on food consumption
Retail inflation in Córdoba was 1.8% in June, according to the Institute of Statistics and Social and Economic Trends (Ietse). The agency, which reports to the Centro de Almaceneros, indicated that this is the second consecutive month with a variation below 2%. The monthly index represents a continuation of the price slowdown recorded in previous months.
Although the difference from May is just one tenth of a percentage point, the report warns about movements within the categories most sensitive to household consumption. "Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages" increased by 1.6% in June, compared to 0.9% recorded in May, with rises in fruits, vegetables, flour, and oils. According to Ietse, these increases have a direct impact on basic household spending.
The measurement by Centro de Almaceneros reflects variations that, although limited, show different behaviors depending on the type of product. The survey also highlights that families continue to adjust their purchases based on available income. This dynamic remains conditioned by the evolution of prices of essential goods.
