Breakup with no return: Mirtha Legrand and her former driver will go to trial after years of tension
Marcelo Campos, who worked for decades for the diva, sued her for unpaid wages and workplace mistreatment
The historic relationship betweenMirtha Legrand and her driver, Marcelo Campos, ended amid accusations, accumulated tensions, and a multimillion-dollar lawsuit. After failed attempts at reconciliation, the case is moving toward the courts.
Campos had been dismissed months earlier by decision of Nacho Viale, the host's grandson and producer. The conflict erupted when the former driver demanded a salary adjustment and payment for overtime accumulated over years of service.
For a time, the diva's entourage sought an economic agreement to avoid the trial. However, after several unsuccessful hearings, the parties decided to take the matter to court. Now, Campos is preparing an arsenal of evidence and witnesses.
Witnesses, multimillion-dollar claims, and internal tensions
According to entertainment journalists, Marcelo Campos had already tried to raise his claims years earlier. In November 2023, he reportedly had a direct conversation with Mirtha, where he expressed that he was earning below the agreement and was not receiving payment for overtime.

Luis Bremer explained that the host referred him to the family's accountant, promising a solution. But the situation escalated when, in 2024, a key meeting was organized with the presence of Legrand, her grandson, the accountant, and Campos himself. Despite that meeting, the conflict was not solved.
Later, he was prohibited from entering the apartment where he worked and was relegated to remain only in the garage. According to sources close to the situation, he was also denied access to basic places, such as the dining room or the bathroom.
Frustrated, the former driver began to warn that he would leave promptly if an economic agreement was not reached. Finally, that tension led to his dismissal.
Now, Campos was gathering testimonies from photographers, producers, and reporters who worked both in Mar del Plata and Buenos Aires to prove the magnitude of his duties. Among the summoned witnesses were even people close to Legrand.
In addition to the money for unpaid wages, he was claiming telephone services used over the years, with an estimated amount of six million pesos.
