In an impressive lightning operation, Israel secured air superiority over large areas of Iranian territory in just 48 hours, including the airspace over the capital Tehran. The offensive, launched on June 13 under the codename “Operation Rising Lion,” consists of several waves of coordinated attacks, mainly by air.
In the early hours of the attack, more than 200 aircraft participated in the bombing of at least 100 strategic military targets, including command centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), ballistic missile launchers, heavy weapons arsenals, and sites related to the Iranian nuclear program.

The key to success was the combination of surgical precision, cutting-edge technology, and a remarkable covert action by the Israeli intelligence service, Mossad.
