Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar will meet with Marco Rubio and other key figures in Washington

Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Saar traveled to the United States on a high-level diplomatic visit. The central point of the agenda will be his meeting this Wednesday in Washington with Marco Rubio, Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, with whom he had already held meetings last February.

Saar will also meet with Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, as well as leaders of the Conference of Presidents and the powerful pro-Israel lobby AIPAC. The objective is to strengthen political and strategic coordination with Washington at a key moment for the region.

Israel under international pressure

The foreign minister's trip comes amid strong criticism from the UN, which declared an alleged "famine" in Gaza. The Israeli government firmly rejected that report, stating that it is a partial, manipulated document designed to fit Hamas's propaganda.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that "there is no famine in Gaza" and accused the organization of "deviating from its own rules, ignoring technical criteria, and whitewashing Hamas's lies." According to Israel, this is an attempt by the UN and certain international sectors to weaken its position in the war against terrorism.

The background of the diplomatic offensive

The criticism from the United Nations, which even went so far as to label the situation a "war crime," was met with a forceful response from Israel. For the Jerusalem government, the accusations ignore Hamas's responsibility, which diverts humanitarian aid, uses civilians as human shields, and deliberately causes suffering in the Strip to portray itself as a victim on the international stage.

In this context, Saar's visit to Washington seeks not only to strengthen the strategic bond with the United States but also to ensure that the international narrative doesn't remain in the hands of biased reports and disinformation campaigns promoted by hostile groups.
