President Javier Milei administered the oath of office to Diego Santilli as the new Minister of the Interior on Tuesday, in a ceremony held in the Salón Blanco of the Casa Rosada attended by family members, friends, and close associates of "Colo."
During the event, Santilli's children and wife were present, as well as the ministers of the National Executive Branch. The Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, also attended.
After the swearing-in, the president gave Santilli a warm embrace and then approached his family members and close associates, who followed the event with visible emotion.
Hours earlier, in the early morning of Tuesday, Decree 794/2025 had officially appointed Santilli as head of the Ministry of the Interior. His main task will be to build consensus with the governors to move forward with the structural reforms that Milei's government seeks to pass in the National Congress, including the 2026 Budget, the discussion of which will begin in the coming weeks.
