President Javier Milei expressed his optimism about the April inflation rate, which according to private estimates would be below the 3.7% recorded in March, despite the uncertainty caused by the lifting of the currency exchange restrictions.
In an interview with Luis Gasulla on Radio El Observador, the president noted that the "catastrophic" forecasts did not come true and that the indicators suggest a slowdown in consumer prices.
Optimism in the face of the lifting of the restrictions
During the conversation, Milei highlighted that many analysts predicted an inflationary acceleration after the lifting of the restrictions, but he emphasized that the context of money demand and previous volatility did not have the expected impact.
"If we were at the same level as March, it would already be an achievement. We have the expectation and hope that it could be lower," said the President.

However, he avoided providing concrete figures due to the statistical secrecy that prevents the Executive from knowing the Indec data in advance. He also explained that, as a precaution against possible market effects, he doesn't consult high-frequency indicators.
