In the economic section, the president was blunt: "Have confidence, we're not going to print a single peso more. Inflation will be a thing of the past by the middle of next year. Inflation in Argentina will end."
He also insisted that poverty began to decline after the changes implemented since he took office: "It's appalling to have 12 million poor people, but it's better than what we had before. We have fewer poor people, fewer destitute people, and more GDP in dollars. We're heading in the right direction."
Milei admitted that his government had to develop new political muscle: "Management alone is not enough; we had to develop political muscle. This doesn't change by throwing stones from the stands, you win by getting your feet in the mud. That's how you win elections," he said.
In economic matters, he confirmed that Luis "Toto" Caputo's team is working on a tax reform "to take the boot off the neck of the private sector." Amid applause, the President greeted his minister, currently in Washington: "He's listening to you from Washington... Greetings, Toto!" he said humorously, while the stadium chanted his name.
Finally, after more than two and a half hours of the event, Milei said goodbye wrapped in the Argentine flag, shouting "Long live freedom, damn it!" while Vamos por la gloria by La Beriso played. "We're halfway across the river. Don't give up. Let's go for the reconstruction of a free Argentina," the President concluded.
