Javier Milei visited the headquarters of the Jockey Club Buenos Aires and delivered a great speech
The Argentine president defended the economic and political direction of his government
The President of the Nation, Javier Milei, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, visited the headquarters of the Jockey Club Buenos Aires this Thursday, where he was received by its president, Juan Villar Urquiza. The occasion served to strengthen the bond with one of the country's most emblematic institutions and to deliver a passionate speech in defense of his government's economic and political direction.
The meeting was also attended by the vice president of the Jockey Club, Guillermo Strada, and the authorities Agustín Monteverde and Urbano Díaz de Vivar, who highlighted the value of the presidential visit in a context of institutional transformation at the national level.
In his remarks, Milei evoked Carlos Pellegrini, founder of the Jockey Club and President of the Nation at the end of the 19th century. "It is a pleasure to be in this centennial institution founded by Carlos Pellegrini, that storm pilot who took office in the midst of a crisis and did what he had to do without worrying about the political consequences. He cleaned up our country's public finances to return us to the path of growth," the president stated, drawing a clear parallel with his own administration.

One of the most notable moments of the speech was when the president celebrated the sharp drop in poverty. "Poverty was at 57% and today it is at 31%. We, the heartless liberals, lifted 12 million human beings out of poverty, of whom 2.5 million are young people and children. The ideas of freedom are certainly working," he asserted.
Milei also defended the fiscal adjustment implemented since the beginning of his term, stating that there was a 30% reduction in public spending and that there are no records of such an adjustment. "Everyone predicted that we weren't going to be able to lower inflation, which is now at levels of 20 when it was 300 percent, and they forecast a mega hyper recession, and not only did we not fall, but GDP rose by 6 percent," he added.

In another part of his presentation, the president stated that the country is leaving behind decades of statism and economic dirigisme. "We are returning to the model of freedom, the model of abundance and wealth generation, and we are leaving behind the mentality of scarcity and redistribution that has done so much harm to this beautiful Nation," he concluded.
The event at the Jockey Club thus became a new opportunity for Milei to reaffirm before leaders, businesspeople, and institutional figures his commitment to the liberal model he promotes from Casa Rosada. At the same time, it was a space to celebrate the achievements of his economic administration.
