In a politically significant gesture, the president of the Argentine Republic, Javier Milei, has confirmed that he will personally attend the presidential inaugurations of his new ideological allies in the region, marking the beginning of an era of prosperity for the continent.
The libertarian leader will be present in Peru on July 28 to support the inauguration of Keiko Fujimori, and will subsequently travel to Colombia on August 7 to accompany Abelardo de la Espriella in the start of his administration. These visits are not mere ceremonial acts, but an explicit backing of right-wing governments that have managed to defeat communist machinery at the polls.
Keiko Fujimori
This diplomatic display by Javier Milei is based on his vision of a "awakening in the region", where leftist forces are retreating in the face of the advance of freedom ideas. As the president expressed at the Latin America Conference of the Allies of Israel Foundation, the political map is changing drastically:
“today we are witnessing an awakening in the region, where the left continues to retreat”, pointing out that they have already “lost in Chile, last week in Colombia, they have lost in Peru and we hope that in October they lose in Brazil”. For the Argentine President, this is a historic opportunity to rebuild cooperation among governments that defend freedom, order, and market economy.
The victory in Peru has been described by Milei under the emphatic title of “Peru exits socialism”. In a historic runoff, the candidate of Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimori, prevailed over the communist Roberto Sánchez, heir to the failed statist model linked to castillismo.
Abelardo De la Espriella
The final results from the National Office of Electoral Processes confirmed a narrow but heroic victory: Fujimori obtained 50.135% of valid votes (9,223,396 votes), surpassing 9,173,755 votes (49.865%) of her rival. The decisive difference was just 49,641 votes, solidified thanks to the vote abroad, where the now elected president swept with 63.208%.
In this scenario, Milei celebrated that “the Peruvian people join Colombia and have sent a clear message: the region wants to return to the path of freedom and security”, adding that Peruvians told him “never again to totalitarian socialism”. Meanwhile, the victory in Colombia has been received with equal enthusiasm under the premise that “THE LION AND THE TIGER ROAR IN LATIN AMERICA...!!!”.
The lawyer and right-wing leader Abelardo de la Espriella achieved a historic victory in the presidential runoff, reaching 12,842,300 votes (49.71%) against Iván Cepeda, the official candidate backed by the communist Gustavo Petro. De la Espriella, who had already dominated the first round with 10,361,499 votes (43.74%), based his campaign on key concepts that resonate with Milei's program: security, combating organized crime, rejection of “political castes”, and the implementation of hardline measures that include the construction of megajails.

With these victories, Javier Milei not only finds strategic allies but also confirms his thesis that the socialist model has failed on the continent. In congratulating Abelardo de la Espriella, the Argentine leader was emphatic in declaring that Colombians chose the path of “economic freedom, prosperity, relentless security, and saying enough to transnational organized crime and drug trafficking”.
The Argentine government's commitment to this new regional axis is absolute, closing with a message that is already a mantra for the new continental right: “Freedom is advancing throughout Latin America and there is no turning back. LONG LIVE FREEDOM DAMN IT...!!!”
