Documents recently released by the House Oversight Committee show that Jeffrey Epstein sent real-time text messages to Democratic Representative Stacey Plaskett during a February 27, 2019, hearing in which Michael Cohen, former personal attorney to Donald Trump, was testifying about alleged hush money payments before the 2016 election.
According to records initially cited by The Washington Post, Epstein was watching the hearing on television while guiding Plaskett on possible questions that could harm then-President Trump. The exchange included a clarification about Rhona Graff, a longtime executive at the Trump Organization, mentioned by Cohen during his statement.
The messages also show that Epstein suggested Plaskett press for additional names within Trump's inner circle. Epstein identified possible "henchmen" and encouraged Plaskett to press Cohen to provide as many names as possible. Minutes after the congresswoman completed her round of questions, Epstein wrote to her "Good work".
