The American journalist Greg Gutfeld fully engaged in the debate on the Falkland Islands and publicly proposed that the Donald Trump administration support Argentine sovereignty in the conflict, within the framework of the great relationship with the president Javier Miley.
During his program on Fox News, Gutfeld argued that the United States should take an active stance against the United Kingdom, in a context of political tensions and international disagreements.
The journalist deepened his position with direct criticism of the current link between the two countries and questioned the British role in the bilateral relationship.
“They didn't help us and are not helping us. They come, like so many others, to the United States to buy oil and they give us in return. What has England done? “, he criticized
.
“I firmly believe that it is time to take the Falkland Islands away from him to show him who is in charge of this. And give them to Argentina. They forget who helped him in the Falklands. We helped them and now they leave us stranded. That's not the case,” the journalist said bluntly.
The statements come in a context in which both sectors close to Donald Trump, as well as the president himself, have been expressing questions about the British government headed by Keir Starmer, particularly because of its left-wing stance and geopolitical differences.

The debate over the Falkland Islands
Last month, Republican leader Marc Zell, close to Trump, also generated strong international repercussion after proposing a historic change in U.S. foreign policy regarding the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, in the context of the military offensive against the Iranian regime
.
In particular, he stated that, while Argentina, under the Government of Javier Milei, was collaborating with the United States, the United Kingdom had refused to provide support.
For that reason, he urged the Donald Trump administration to reward this loyalty by reversing the historic neutrality of the United States and formally supporting Argentina's claim to sovereignty over the Malvinas.
Zell argued that "Trump doesn't easily forget" neither his allies nor those who turn their backs on him, comparing the situation with the loyalty that Milei has shown to his administration.
