Franco Colapinto is going through a key moment in Formula 1, as his continuity for the 2026 season could soon be decided. Ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, journalist Juan Fossaroli analyzed the criticism received by the Argentine driver and shared a reflection on his professional future.

"Messi and Sabatini were criticized for being number 2 in the world. We always criticize, people don't understand the sacrifice behind it. Franco has great talent and as a person, he's a 10," Fossaroli said on La mesa de Juana.

The host highlighted the efforts Colapinto made in his career: "He left at 14 years old to live alone abroad and slept in a room above where the go-karts were prepared. He showered in his racing suit, cooked pasta or sausages."

He also emphasized the young driver's personality: "Franco is outgoing and friendly, we all love him. Those who criticize him, let them keep criticizing."

Fossaroli explained that in Formula 1 "there are interests" and that all drivers are under pressure, like Andrea Kimi Antonelli at Mercedes, who is currently the target of criticism due to his poor performance. Regarding Colapinto, he was optimistic: "There may be some interest in the statements by (Flavio) Briatore but then he says 'We want him for next year.' Franco is on the right track."

When Colapinto will race again

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which will take place in Baku, will be the next event in the top category. The activity will begin on Friday, September 19 with the first free practice sessions and the race will be held on Sunday, the 21st.

This circuit brings back good memories for the Argentine driver, as it was where he scored his first points as an F1 driver, when he was still part of Williams.
