After their stumble in the Champions League semifinals against Lautaro Martínez's Inter, Barcelona is already preparing a new project for the future. In this context, on the Spanish program "El Chiringuito" they revealed Barcelona's interest in Julián Álvarez to replace Robert Lewandowski.

The journalist Jota Jordi confirmed the news, which could happen in the middle of next year. "Barcelona already has a very clear objective. Those in charge already know which player they want to sign. It won't be for this summer, but for the next one, for the 2026/27 season. They want him to be Lewandowski's replacement, he plays in the Spanish League and it's Julián Álvarez. During the next season, they will start working on the signing," he commented.

The good performance of the native of Calchín in his first season at Atlético Madrid led him to be considered by several big clubs in Europe. In just under a year, the Spider scored 29 goals and 6 assists in 53 matches played across all competitions (LaLiga, Champions League, and Copa del Rey).

"Does Barça like Julián Álvarez? Well, I like Lamine Yamal a lot. It seems we have the same tastes," Cerezo commented with a laugh to the media "Tot es mou".

"Julián Álvarez is an Atlético player. He is ours and will continue to be ours," he stated. "Julián will grow at Atlético and will end his career at Atlético because he is a player made for us," the executive concluded.
