The Kirchnerist senator Juliana Di Tullio rejected making a self-criticism regarding the questions and corruption cases of Peronism during an interview with journalist Jairo Straccia.

In response to a series of questions about the leaders of the space and the legal cases against them, the legislator stated that she is not willing to take responsibility for events that, she argued, she does not consider real.

The exchange began when Straccia asked her if Peronism had reflected on cases like that of Martín Insaurralde, his arrival at the chief advisor position of Axel Kicillof, and the investigations into his assets. The journalist also mentioned the SIRA and the corrupt import scheme during the administration of Sergio Massa.

The question aimed to see if the space should explain those episodes to also connect with those who sympathize with some of its policies but question the corruption cases. Di Tullio's response was blunt: “No. No, no...”.

When Straccia insisted on the need for reflection, the senator again rejected the proposal and questioned part of the mentioned facts.

“I don't know if that's true. I mean, we also don't know if it's exactly like that. I don't want to be a defender of things that are in the middle of judicial situations”, she replied.

The journalist again mentioned Insaurralde's appearance on a yacht during the electoral campaign. However, Di Tullio maintained that it was not appropriate for her or Peronism to take self-criticism for those episodes.

“Why do I or Peronism have to make a self-criticism about things I don't know if they happened?”, the senator posed.

In the most forceful part of the discussion, Di Tullio also questioned the very existence of certain investigations. “I mean, I don't know, there's a notebook case that doesn't exist, Jairo. I mean, we're in the middle of a trial of a notebook case that aren't even there”, she stated during the interview.

Straccia tried to steer the discussion towards the political consequences of that position and suggested that hearing her like that makes him think about a possible reelection of president Javier Milei. “I want to die, Juliana. Do you know that I listen to you and think Milei is going to be reelected?”, he told her.

The senator responded that it was a “a bit strong” assertion and defended her position again. When pressed by the journalist, Di Tullio questioned what response he expected from her to avoid that scenario. “What do you want me to say so that Milei doesn't get reelected? That the SIRA exist?”, she asked.

The exchange ended with the Kirchnerist leader reaffirming that Peronism will not make self-criticism for the questions raised during the interview.

Thus, in the face of the explicit request for reflection on the serious and dark episodes of Kirchnerism, Di Tullio did not propose a self-criticism or a review of the conduct of the space.
