The government of José Antonio Kast decided to withdraw a series of nefarious environmental decrees promoted by the previous administration, in a measure that marks the beginning of his administration with an emphasis on reviewing public policies before their entry into force, which aimed to prevent the country's economic and commercial growth.
The initiatives, signed between 2023 and 2026 during the term of communist Gabriel Boric, included the regulation of emissions in thermoelectric power plants, the creation of new national parks and the protection of endangered species such as Darwin's frog.
