The "Cántaros" Day Center, located in Villa Elisa, warned that it could suspend its activities starting this Wednesday if the Government of Axel Kicillof, through the Institute of Medical Assistance Work (IOMA), does not pay the debt it owes to the institution.

From the establishment, they pointed out that the economic situation has become “impossible to sustain” after months of payment defaults by the Kirchnerist administration.

In a statement addressed to the families and the community, the authorities explained that during July they held various meetings with representatives of IOMA, in which they accepted payment proposals to resolve the conflict. However, they indicated that those commitments were not fulfilled.

“We trusted that those proposals would be fulfilled and, for that reason, we temporarily suspended our public claim. However, none of those commitments materialized,” stated the institution, which has been operating for over 20 years at Camino Belgrano almost 409.

They detailed that the provincial health insurance owes the payment corresponding to April 2026, in addition to fee discrepancies from January, February, and March of this year. This is compounded by unpaid benefits that have been accumulating since 2025, which has deepened the financial imbalance of the center.

Despite this scenario, Cántaros assured that they continued to provide all services to avoid affecting the 90 attendees who come daily. For months, they explained, they sustained both transportation and services with own resources, although they warned that this effort is no longer viable.

“Unfortunately, we have reached a limit. No institution can continue to operate indefinitely when the committed payments do not arrive and debts accumulate,” expressed the entity.

The center, which provides care for people with disabilities, emphasized that it remains committed to users and their families, but insisted on the need for an urgent response from Kicillof's Government to ensure the continuity of the service.

In this context, they warned that if the debt is not regularized, they will be forced to close their doors starting Wednesday, which would leave dozens of people who depend on the services provided there without care.

Additionally, they called on the community to support the claims that will be made in front of IOMA to demand a solution to the conflict and prevent the interruption of the service.
