Kim Jong-un tests a new engine for intercontinental missiles and threatens the world
Kim Jong-un's communist regime insists on increasing its nuclear power, while repressing its people and seeking alliances with Russia and China to challenge the United States
North Korea announced that Kim Jong-un supervised the test of a new solid-fuel rocket engine for intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM). According to state propaganda, the engine produces 1,971 kilonewtons of thrust, much more than previous models, and would be the basis for future Hwasong-20 system missiles.
The communist regime celebrated the test as a "groundbreaking breakthrough", but international analysts warn that this is another step in Pyongyang's dangerous arms race, which ignores the humanitarian crisis its population is experiencing in order to allocate resources to nuclear weapons.

A constant threat strategy
In recent years, North Korea has conducted multiple missile tests capable of reaching the continental territory of the United States. These new solid-fuel rockets are easier to move, hide, and launch than the old liquid-fuel models, increasing the risk of surprise attacks.
Kim Jong-un is also seeking to advance in multiple warhead systems to challenge missile defenses. However, experts point out that North Korea still has not perfected the technology needed to ensure its warheads withstand atmospheric reentry.
Kim's isolation and his dependence on Russia and China

After the failure of nuclear negotiations with Washington in 2019, Kim intensified his strategy of threats. The North Korean dictator has strengthened ties with Vladimir Putin, sending troops and weaponry to support the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In addition, he recently traveled to Beijing, where he participated in a military parade alongside Xi Jinping and Putin, in an attempt to show an alliance aimed at undermining United States influence in the region.
A regime that represses and impoverishes
While spending billions on missiles, Kim's regime keeps the population under authoritarian control, without political freedoms or basic human rights. The levels of poverty, hunger, and repression are alarming, in contrast to the military power that state propaganda seeks to display to the world.
