“Openness is the only way”: Adorni welcomed the Mercosur-EU agreement and announced reforms for employment

The Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, highlighted the entry into force of the trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union and defended economic opening as the central axis of the model promoted by President Javier Milei.

“Commercial opening always brings more investment, more growth and more employment, and it is the only possible path to prosperity for Argentines,” he said during a conference at Casa Rosada.

A historic agreement after 27 years

The understanding between Mercosur and the European Union marks the creation of one of the largest free trade zones in the world, with direct impact on key sectors such as agriculture and the

automotive industry.

Adorni stressed that the agreement will improve the access of Argentine products to an enormous scale market and attract investment, considering that Europe is already the main source of foreign investment in the country.

End of obstacles and commitment to growth

“We used to live in a country that suffocated producers with ridiculous obstacles and regulations,” he said, marking the contrast with the current policy of openness and deregulation.

in costs.

another announcement, the Government provided for an extraordinary 25% discount on the gas subsidy, in addition to the 50% already in force

In this way, users will receive a 75% bonus in May, in response to the international price increase.

Investment in defense and modernization of the State

In addition, Milei signed the decree implementing the Argentine Military Adaptation and Reequipment Plan (ARMA), which will allocate 10% of revenues from sales of State assets to strengthening the Armed Forces
