'League of Legends Classic': Riot confirmed what the classic version of LoL will be like

Upon reaching level 10, the Summoner's Journey will begin, with progression ranging from Salt to Legend.

The Council system will allow voting on the future of the mode

Riot Games will incorporate The Council, a voting system for the community to participate in future decisions about League of Legends Classic.

Players will be able to vote on the addition of champions, new skins created for Classic, and possible gameplay changes. Those who reach higher levels within Classic will have more weight in the votes.

Paul Bellezza explained the goal of League of Legends Classic

Executive producer Paul Bellezza stated that the project responds to a request from the community and the interest of the development team to recover the essence of the early stages of the game.

He indicated that the goal is not to reproduce the original experience exactly, but to pay homage to the origins of League of Legends with a proposal that also incorporates novelties.

Season passes and classic skins

League of Legends Classic will feature season passes that will include a free route and a paid one.

Among the rewards, there will be IP, BE, rune pages, emotes, titles, portraits, and Classic Skins, which will recover the appearance that champions had between 2009 and 2013.

Players who already own those champions will be able to use them immediately. Those who do not have them will be able to unlock them through the progression system or from the store.

Game modes and progression system

At launch, League of Legends Classic will offer a PvP queue with draft selection, cooperative matches against AI, and custom matches.

All users will have access to Classic Levels, a free progression system that will allow them to obtain:

League of Legends Classic was presented by Riot Games as a new version of the MOBA inspired by its early years. The mode will debut on July 29 alongside patch 26.15 and will combine classic elements with current improvements.

According to the developer, League of Legends Classic will not aim to recreate the original game exactly. The proposal aims to recover the experience of the early seasons with systems adapted to current players.

The combat will have a pace closer to that of the early years of the MOBA. Additionally, champions will have more pronounced strengths and weaknesses to favor strategic decisions.

What modern changes will League of Legends Classic have

League of Legends Classic will start with a roster of 60 champions. The original 40 will be available along with another 20 added between 2009 and 2013.

Riot Games confirmed that more champions will be added after the launch, although not all existing characters from the current version will be available.
