Negre questioned the repression in Mexico; Leavitt expressed gratitude for the work of independent media
The director of La Derecha Diario, Javier Negre, participated in the press conference of presidential spokesperson Karoline Leavitt at the White House, where he once again brought to the international agenda topics that much of progressive journalism avoids addressing. Trump's spokesperson not only replied to each point, but also publicly praised the presence of new media outlets like LDD in the press room, stating that the administration is "proud to have new voices" actively participating.
Negre began his remarks by expressing gratitude for the reception and valued the support for journalistic projects that fight fake news, the advance of communism, and woke culture. He immediately raised a sensitive issue: repression in Mexico under the administration of Claudia Sheinbaum. He explained that the Mexican president has used the police to repress journalists and young people. He pointed out the double standard of the U.S. media ecosystem, which criticizes Trump for refuting falsehoods but avoids covering the brutality suffered by Mexican journalists.
The spokesperson replied by acknowledging what she described as "historic progress" in the bilateral relationship with Mexico. According to her explanation, Sheinbaum and her administration have been extremely cooperative in matters of security, collaboration on the southern border, combating illegal immigration, and actions against the cartels. She also clarified that President Trump is interested in taking additional measures against criminal organizations and that this is a firm political promise.
When Negre mentioned the 150 journalists killed in Mexico in recent years, Leavitt lamented the limited international coverage. She assured that the administration would like the media to report more on the situation and emphasized that the U.S. government strongly condemns these crimes.
In a second question, the director of LDD asked whether the White House plans a specific approach toward Mexico regarding drug trafficking, in the same way Trump recently announced a plan targeting Venezuela. The spokesperson replied that the president considers the fight against transnational organized crime a priority and is evaluating new actions to curb the expansion of the cartels, which today control territories and influence governments. Negre's visit to the White House left two clear conclusions. The first: the explicit recognition by the spokesperson of La Derecha Diario, which is consolidating itself as an uncomfortable voice for the traditional press. The second: the exposure of the media double standard regarding Mexico, where violence against journalists and the advance of drug trafficking do not receive even a fraction of the coverage that progressive media dedicate to criticizing Trump.
New voices are beginning to make their way and, as Leavitt pointed out, they are changing the public debate in the United States as well. Javier Negre announced at the White House conference that this Sunday he will launch a program "against communism and the woke culture promoted by people like Soros," sponsored by Real America's Voice -where CharlieKirk had his streaming show- UHN Plus, EDATV, and La Derecha Diario, in line with the progress highlighted by the spokesperson.
