LeBron James is the first NBA player to reach 50,000 combined points.
At 40 years old, the still-active legend continues breaking records and Lakers remain on a winning streak.
The indomitable LeBron continues to surpass personal records and became the first player in NBA history to score 50,000 combined points, which includes regular season and play-offs. The "King" was just one point away from this historic milestone in his previous game against his city rival, Los Angeles Clippers.
The Los Angeles Lakers player finally reached this significant milestone in the opening minutes of the game against the New Orleans Pelicans, which ended 136 to 115 in favor of his team. With this victory, the seventh in a row, the Lakers are in second place in the Western Conference with a record of 39 wins and 21 losses.

Before this record, in 2023 James became the player with the most regular season points, surpassing the former record of the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 38,387 points. As for combined points, Kareem retired with 44,149, a number surpassed long ago by LeBron.
A record he recently matched was Vince Carter's, with the most seasons played in the top tier of American basketball (22). If he plays next year, LeBron would hold this record alone with 23 seasons played. Meanwhile, James will seek to be the player with the most games played. He currently has 1,548 and is only surpassed by the aforementioned Abdul-Jabbar, with 1,560, and Robert Parish, with 1,611. Regarding this, out of those 1,548 games, the Lakers player scored at least 10 points in 1,277, recording no less than that amount since early 2007 every time he plays.
