Left-wing environmentalist, angry about the removal of the quebracho, now joins Peronism
This is Pablo Riveros, general director of territorial planning at the Ministry of Environment and Circular Economy of Córdoba
The leftist environmentalists, who are against progress, are furious after the removal of the quebracho tree from Villa Allende.
As is well known, common sense finally prevailed and, after a couple of weeks of tension, the tree that was blocking the expansion of Luchesse Avenue was removed.

Now roadwork can continue on a key route that connects Sierras Chicas with a highly relevant economic corridor in Córdoba, where the airport and several industries are located.
Quebracho tree of Villa Allende: the court ruled against the environmentalists
The environmentalists filed an injunction and even chained themselves after camping out.
Fortunately, the court did not side with them and finally a crane removed the specimen to plant it elsewhere.

The "party" cost the municipality of Villa Allende, governed by Pablo Cornet, about 25 million pesos.
Cornet defended the decision to remove the tree by saying that "more than a thousand trees will be planted in the area" as part of the remediation plan.
With that, he tried to justify a blunder that was more symbolic than environmental and largely the result of official improvisation. He also tried to close the issue by saying that "today the work will be completed to ensure the destination site is in good condition."
Leftist Pablo Riveros joins Peronism for the elections
Tired of losing, Pablo Riveros, general director of land management at the Ministry of Environment and Circular Economy of Córdoba, said that in the upcoming elections his party Movimiento Verde Cordobés will join forces with the Peronism of Governor Martín Llaryora.

"Movimiento Verde declared that this could be solved with a roundabout, like there are many on that avenue, or by shifting the route," said the official.
"For us, 2027 is the most important milestone; what comes now is a national election where what we need is a strong force to oppose this president," he added.
The big question is whether this will win him any votes...
