Leonel Vangioni highlighted River's demands and talked about Gallardo's current team.

In his interview with Radio La Red, Leonel Vangioni, former River defender, talked about the club's present and how demanding the fans and Muñeco Gallardo are.

"To be at River, with Marcelo Gallardo and the pressure from the people, you have to be mentally and physically prepared," highlighted the current Cervecero defender.

Regarding the current situation of the club and its inconsistency, Piri commented: "When River finds the team, it won't stop anymore, because of the hierarchy it has. I think Gallardo will find the team, despite the fact that the performance isn't what he must want, he has chances on all fronts."

"When I was at River, it wasn't just the defense, but the team itself was found," highlighted the defender, referring to the functioning of the Millonario squad that led him to return to his champion phase a decade ago.

Vangioni's Career at River

Piri arrived at the Núñez team from Newell's Old Boys at the end of 2012, in exchange for 1.8 million dollars for 80% of his card. His debut would be just a month later, in the 2-0 victory in the Copa Centenario Liga Marplatense de Fútbol against Boca, where he assisted the Uruguayan Rodrigo Mora.

At River he won everything, especially at the international level. In 2014 he would become champion of the Torneo Final, with Ramón Díaz as coach. That same year, but with Marcelo Gallardo in charge, he would win the Copa Sudamericana and, subsequently, the Suruga Bank.

In 2015, the year would start with the achievement of the  Recopa Sudamericana  against San Lorenzo, the current Libertadores champion, and it would close with the consecration in the top continental tournament  against Tigres. With this title, River would play the Club World Cup, where they would lose 3-0 in the final against none other than Barcelona of the MSN.
