La Libertad Avanza made history at UTN with its first student election

The liberal advance in universities marks the beginning of a new cultural era

Freedom is beginning to make its way into Argentine universities. Yesterday, elections concluded at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN), marking an unprecedented event: for the first time in history, a liberal group officially participated. This is the UPL (Unión por la Libertad) project, founded less than a year ago at the initiative of national deputy Romina Diez, who has encouraged young libertarians to fight the cultural battle within the academic sphere as well.

With just two months of presence at the faculty, UPL achieved a surprising result: 25.6% of the votes, which allowed them to secure the vice presidency of the student center and obtain three secretariats. First place went to Gradiente (an independent group linked to Peronism/Kirchnerism), which received 47.2%. Behind them were Pueblo y Reforma (Peronism) with 16%, and TAC (related to ALDE) with 10.8%.

A new libertarian generation takes center stage

This result not only reflects the electoral growth of La Libertad Avanza, but is also concrete evidence of how the ideas of freedom are successfully penetrating the university environment, marking a new era in student politics. At a university founded by Juan Domingo Perón, a symbol of Argentine statism, a group of young liberals captured a quarter of the electorate in record time. This is a clear indication that the cultural change driven by President Javier Milei is not limited to the institutional or economic sphere, but is also beginning to take root in the educational foundations of the country.

Romina Diez's active support was essential: she personally accompanied the students throughout the entire voting day and the counting process, showing that libertarian leadership is exercised not only from Congress or the Casa Rosada, but also from the cultural trenches where the future of ideas is at stake.

Despite threats, harassment, and violence suffered at the hands of groups that claim to defend diversity but do not tolerate dissenting ideas, libertarian students stood their ground and raised their voices. This is not an isolated event: at several universities across the country, young people aligned with La Libertad Avanza have been harassed by students and even faculty, revealing the deep ideological bias that prevails in many academic institutions.

The rebirth of liberal thought in the classroom

What happened at UTN is just a symptom of the larger phenomenon taking place in Argentina: the breaking of decades of left-wing intellectual hegemony and the emergence of a liberal mindset that is fresh, courageous, and determined to fight the cultural battle. Javier Milei's figure has been key as a catalyst for this awakening. His leadership has inspired thousands of young people to leave apathy behind and raise the banners of common sense, merit, effort, and respect for private property.

For the first time in a long while, Argentine youth no longer see the State as their only horizon, but are beginning to dream of a truly free society. History will say that it was in these small but significant battles, such as the one at UTN, where Argentina's cultural reconquest began.
