Days before the long weekend, the Torres Manantiales hotel received strong criticism
The famous hotel located in Mar del Plata received dozens of complaints about the poor condition in which it is maintained
With the arrival of a new long weekend, Mar del Plata is once again positioned as one of the most popular destinations for Argentinians for a getaway.
Its wide gastronomic offerings, proximity to Buenos Aires City, and the possibility of staying by the sea make it an ideal city for domestic tourism. However, not all experiences are satisfactory.
The Torres Manantiales complex, one of the historic accommodation buildings of "La Feliz", has become the center of controversy due to a wave of negative reviews that have multiplied on social media and booking platforms.

Located in front of Playa Chica, the complex was once a symbol of middle- and upper-class tourism for decades. But according to various users online, its current condition is far from that former splendor.
On sites like Google, TripAdvisor, and Booking, comments about building deterioration, poor hygiene, and unprofessional service are repeated.
"Absolutely abandoned," wrote a tourist who stayed there in May of last year. In his review, he detailed: "The flattened pillows don't allow for rest, old mattresses with outdated elastic beds. The sheets and bedspreads were worn out. The balcony with a sea view was dirty with pigeon droppings. Impossible to step out."

Additionally, the same guest questioned that the café on the 29th floor, called Las Nubes, is not included in the rate: "For what they charge, they don't even offer you breakfast. A real letdown," he concluded.
Another visitor, who stayed recently, agreed with the criticism: "We booked online. Upon entering the lobby, there was already a smell of dampness. We went up to the room and everything was old and dirty. They hadn't even swept."
He added: "When we wanted to go to the lookout to have breakfast, the elevator button didn't work. No elevator has a maintenance sign. The balconies looked like those of an abandoned construction site, with rusty iron and broken cement railings. Zero safety for the family."
In addition to the lack of maintenance, several users warn about an apparent lack of investment in modernization: "The windows were peeling, with no paint or repairs for years. The neglect is obvious," wrote a couple who traveled with their family.
