Llaryora presented the new prison for high-risk criminals in Córdoba
The new prison will feature strict surveillance standards and cutting-edge technology
The governor Martín Llaryora presented the Maximum Security Center (CEMAX), a facility designed to house the most dangerous detainees in the province.
Located in the Prison Complex No. 1 "Reverend Father Luchesse," the new prison will feature strict surveillance standards and cutting-edge technology.

An advanced security model
With an investment of $109 billion, CEMAX will have 448 cells to accommodate approximately 1,000 inmates considered "High Risk Profile."
For their custody, a Special Tactical Group will be implemented along with a reinforced surveillance system with Artificial Intelligence cameras, security scanners, and perimeter radars.

Among the new measures are:
- Strict visitation regime: every 15 days.
- Mandatory use of uniforms for inmates.
- Prohibition of provision entry by family members.
- Blocking of mobile phone signals with total inhibitors.
- Control of unauthorized drones with an aerial threat detection system.
- Body cams for prison staff with real-time monitoring.
"We are committed to ensuring that the criminals are the ones who are afraid, not the people," Llaryora stated.
New Detainee Containment Unit
In addition to CEMAX, the governor announced the construction of a new Detainee Containment Unit (UCA), with a capacity for 500 people and an investment of $15 billion. This project will complement the existing facilities in Córdoba capital and in Bouwer.

The UCA will have its own independent security system, with differentiated access within the prison complex.
With these investments and security measures, Córdoba seeks to strengthen its prison system and provide greater protection to its citizens.
