The person in charge of conveying the actress's position was Fede Popgold, a close friend of Maia and a journalist, who addressed the subject during his appearance on the streaming show Resu en vivo (Resumido). There he was categorical in describing the current bond between the actress and the athlete.
"Miss Maia Reficco and Mr. Franco Colapinto have many friends in common and they recently met. They are friends", Popgold explained, ruling out the existence of a formal relationship.
