Mario Lugones tamed a K official who lied about cancer treatments

Kicillof's official accused Milei's government of 'letting cancer patients die.'

A Kirchnerist official from the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security attempted to lie and slander Javier Milei's government after accusing the three branches of the State of "letting cancer patients die."

The Kirchnerist Facundo Lanza made these serious statements without any evidence, generating strong backlash on social media. "Try not to contract any type of cancer at this time; the three branches of the State are letting patients die," Lanza stated, attempting to generate fear.

After the Kirchnerist's lies, a Javier Milei government official intervened to clarify the situation and explain the truth to the public, making Lanza look ridiculous.

The Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, categorically denied the accusations and highlighted the active role that the Nation has been playing to guarantee access to cancer treatments, especially for patients without medical coverage.

"No wonder insecurity reigns in the Province if its Ministry of Security officials are engaging in politics with false accusations," Lugones replied.

Lugones explained that, in 2024, the National Ministry of Health allocated nearly $115,000 million for cancer treatments through the National Directorate of Direct and Compensatory Assistance (DINADIC) and the Special Drug Bank. In 2025 so far, over $70,000 million have already been allocated, with projections of another $85,000 million for the second half of the year.

Additionally, the national official recalled that "always and in every case, the National Government handles the cases that the provinces reject." According to his explanation, requests are initiated in the provincial Ministries of Health, and when an administration, such as Buenos Aires, refuses in writing to cover a treatment, the Nation intervenes to guarantee the medication.

Meanwhile, while Javier Milei's administration is moving forward with measures to maintain coverage for serious illnesses, Kirchnerists, and even their officials, resort to statements and false accusations to generate fear, putting trust in the health system at risk.
