Matthew Perry: the dealer who supplied him has pleaded guilty
Jasveen Sangha, nicknamed 'queen of ketamine,' admitted to having sold the drug that led to the death of the Friends actor
The case regarding Matthew Perry's death took a key turn. Jasveen Sangha, known as the "ketamine queen" in Los Angeles, pleaded guilty to having sold the substance that caused the fatal overdose of the remembered Chandler Bing in 2023.
The woman, 42 years old, admitted her responsibility in an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office that implicates her in five federal charges, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death.
A drug empire in Hollywood
According to court documents, Sangha operated an apartment in North Hollywood that had been turned into a true drug distribution center. Ketamine, MDMA, benzodiazepines, and other substances were sold there.

Prosecutors described her as a "prolific trafficker" whom her own clients dubbed "the ketamine queen." Meanwhile, on social media she displayed a glamorous lifestyle, surrounded by celebrities and luxury.
Her attorney, Mark Geragos, stated in a brief statement that his client "was taking responsibility for her actions." The sentence has not yet been set, but it could reach up to 45 years in prison.

The chain that led Perry to overdose
Sangha's guilty plea came after a year of investigations. In October 2023, five people were charged in connection with Perry's death and, little by little, all reached agreements with the Justice Department.
Among them were physician Salvador Plasencia, who also provided ketamine to the actor, and other individuals such as Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Erik Fleming, who provided evidence that directly implicated Sangha.
Perry had consumed the drug under medical supervision to treat depression, but he sought additional doses. One month before his death he turned to Plasencia, and two weeks later, to Sangha. With the help of Fleming and Iwamasa, he acquired large quantities shortly before the fatal outcome.

On October 28, 2023, Perry was found lifeless in his Los Angeles home. The coroner determined that ketamine was the main cause of his death. After the discovery, Sangha attempted to erase evidence and asked Fleming to delete incriminating messages.
In March 2024, her residence was raided by the DEA, which found large quantities of ketamine and methamphetamines. Since then, Sangha has remained in federal custody.
The closure of a high-profile case
With the confession of the "ketamine queen," all five defendants have now pleaded guilty. Although the sentences remain to be determined, the court case that shook Hollywood appears to be heading toward its final outcome.
Meanwhile, Matthew Perry's legacy continues to be honored around the world by millions of fans who remember him for his unforgettable role in Friends.
