Mauro Icardi won't be able to marry China Suárez: the reasons
The player surprised everyone by revealing that he plans to formalize his relationship with the actress
Mauro Icardi surprised everyone by revealing that he plans to formalize his current relationship with actress China Suárez, amid the intense media and legal conflict he is involved in with his ex-wife, Wanda Nara. However, a legal obstacle is stopping his plans: he is not yet divorced.
The story escalated again this week when Wanda publicly accused China of hindering Icardi's reconnection with his daughters. In response to those criticisms, the footballer defended his new partner and hinted that his relationship with the actress is serious. He even mentioned his desire to sign a cohabitation agreement as a preliminary step toward a future marriage.

But the intention to legalize the relationship with Suárez could have a second interpretation. According to reports, if Icardi manages to formalize that union, he could request the annulment of a current judicial measure that prevents him from spending time with his daughters in the presence of China, a measure requested by Wanda Nara and which currently has legal force.
Despite his intentions, the footballer is trapped by a single and compelling reason: he remains legally married to Wanda Nara. The information was confirmed by journalist Yanina Latorre on the show Sálvese quien pueda (SQP), who explained that the divorce process in Italy—where the legal union between Icardi and Nara is registered—can take up to a year to complete.
"They wanted to enter into a cohabitation agreement, but they found out they can't because he is still married. In Italy, divorce takes a long time," Latorre explained on the show she hosts.

Icardi's desire to build a new romantic life with Suárez is serious, but he faces the judicial reality that keeps him legally tied to his ex. Meanwhile, the conflict with Wanda Nara continues to escalate, with new statements and accusations on social media, adding tension to this story.
For now, everything indicates that the wedding between Icardi and China Suárez will have to wait at least a year. Amid legal procedures, precautionary measures, and family conflicts, there is still no definitive date for the long-awaited day for the player and his partner.
