Amidst so many rumors about his continuity, it has finally been confirmed: Max Verstappen will continue to be a driver for Red Bull until the end of 2030. The Austrian team announced the renewal of the four-time world champion and put an end to the speculations about his future that had raised doubts about the Dutchman's continuity in the Formula 1 in recent months.
The agreement adds two years to the contract that was already in effect until 2028 and guarantees that Verstappen will remain with the Red Bull team until the start of the next decade. With this decision, when the new contract ends, he will have completed 15 seasons with the team since his arrival in 2016, when he was promoted from Toro Rosso midway through that championship.
The renewal comes at a particular moment for the 28-year-old driver, who for much of the season had avoided confirming his future and had publicly questioned the new F1 regulations. He even considered the possibility of exploring other motorsport categories if the new cars did not meet his expectations.
Finally, Verstappen decided to continue with the project that led him to win four world titles. "I am very happy with the contract extension. We have the best people and I am excited to continue working together to get back to the top", he expressed after the announcement.
The Dutchman also highlighted the bond he has built with the team since his debut. "I have always said: the team is like a second family to me and I feel very at home. I joined the team with the hope of being able to win races. What we have achieved together has been simply wonderful, we have shared many incredible moments and we have won four world championships", he stated.
