Maximiliano Salas and his family were threatened due to his possible move to River
The Academy's forward was harassed on social media, and his family received threats amid the alleged negotiations with the Millionaires
Moments of tension and concern are being experienced by Maximiliano Salas during Racing's training camp in Paraguay. After announcing that he will not renew his contract, amid rumors about a possible move to River, the forward became the victim of threats.
The forward was forced to disable comments on his Instagram account due to the constant offensive messages. However, the situation worsened when his phone number and home address were leaked.
The conflict escalated in recent hours, as his family also became the target of threats. His wife was not spared from the reactions of Academia fans, who strongly reject the possibility of the striker moving to another club.

So far, Racing has not received any formal offer for Salas, neither from River nor from any other institution. However, the situation has already gone beyond the strictly sporting sphere. Despite the tension, the forward has a valid contract with Racing until the end of 2026.
If his departure is finalized, the Avellaneda club would not let him leave for less than his release clause, set at 8 million euros.
Salas is training as usual with Racing
Meanwhile, the squad is holding its preseason in Paraguay with a series of friendlies, amid uncertainty about the player's future. On Tuesday, Salas officially informed the club of his decision not to renew, which had a strong impact within the club presided over by Diego Milito.

Despite being halfway out, the striker was included in the second team that played a friendly against General Caballero, in which Racing won 3-2. His absence from the starting eleven was a clear sign of the moment he is going through.
