Mercado Libre announced the installation of a new logistics center in Tres de Febrero
The company chose the Libertador municipality to launch its third logistics center, with an investment of USD 65 million
Amid the conflict over municipal taxes, Mercado Libre announced the installation of a new logistics center in the municipality of Tres de Febrero, led by the mayor from La Libertad Avanza, Diego Valenzuela, with its inauguration scheduled for October.
This will be the third logistics center in Argentina, and it comes after the company announced its decision to close its offices in Córdoba due to high municipal taxes.
The facility will cover an area of 58,000 square meters (624,306 square feet) and will be strategically located within the Tres de Febrero Logistics Complex, a development by Grupo Posadas. This initiative is part of the company's growth plans in Argentina for 2025, with an estimated investment of 65 million dollars.

The new facility will have the capacity to handle up to 100,000 products per day and store around 570,000 large items, belonging to sectors such as technology, appliances, home, and auto parts.
Its launch will optimize delivery times, enabling 24-hour shipments. In addition, it will strengthen the operations of the centers already located in Mercado Central, where one is currently operating and another will be inaugurated soon. The opening will generate more than 400 direct jobs and contribute to the creation of numerous indirect jobs in the region.
"New Mercado Libre storage center in Tres de Febrero. This step will allow us to continue strengthening our network and empower thousands of SMEs. When conditions are right, there is investment, employment, and development. Thank you Diego Valenzuela for joining us today," wrote Juan Martín de la Serna, president of Mercado Libre Argentina, on his X account.

Meanwhile, mayor Diego Valenzuela highlighted: "Thank you Mercado Libre for setting up the new distribution center in the Tres de Febrero Logistics Park. You chose us because of our fiscal policy: free authorization, tax stability, municipal RIGI with incentives, and anti-blockade ordinance."
He added: "400 direct jobs are being created and more opportunities for entrepreneurs in Greater Buenos Aires. When taxes are lowered, investment and jobs follow. This is voting with your feet. Because fewer taxes mean more jobs."
Currently, more than 95,000 small and medium-sized businesses sell through the platform, which represents the main source of income for more than 181,000 households in Argentina. With this type of project, Mercado Libre reaffirms its commitment to logistics development and the strengthening of e-commerce in the country.
