Mike Myers teased the return of 'Austin Powers' to the big screen

Mike Myers has once again excited fans of Austin Powers by confirming that a fourth movie in the franchise is on the way. The actor and writer responded emphatically when asked if the British spy would return to the big screen.

The statement occurred during World Cup Watch Party with Trevor Noah, while Myers was watching the match between France and Senegal. When asked about a new installment, the star was brief but clear: "Yes".

Austin Powers will return with a fourth movie

Although he did not provide details about filming dates, release, or cast, Mike Myers' response is the strongest indication yet of the franchise's return.

The saga began in 1997 with Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and quickly became one of the most recognized comedies of the late 90s.

Then came Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, released in 1999, and Austin Powers in Goldmember, from 2002, which remains the last film in the trilogy to date.

One of the major attractions of the franchise is that Myers not only plays Austin Powers, but also several central characters in the story.

Among them stands out Doctor Evil, the most memorable villain of the saga and one of the characters that could have a key role in the fourth movie.
