President Javier Milei celebrated this Saturday the military operation carried out by the United States in Venezuela that culminated in the capture and transfer out of the country of dictator Nicolás Maduro. The Argentine president expressed his support publicly through social media, in a brief but forceful message.

"Freedom advances. Long live freedom, damn it", Milei wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter), aligning himself without nuances with the international action that put an end to the control of the Chavista regime over power in Caracas. The message was published after U.S. President Donald Trump officially confirmed Maduro's capture.

According to details provided by Trump on his Truth Social network, the United States successfully carried out a large-scale attack against Venezuela, after which Maduro was captured and transferred by plane out of the country along with his wife. The North American president also indicated that the operation was carried out in coordination with U.S. law enforcement agencies and that more details would be provided at a press conference from Mar-a-Lago.

The confirmation of the operation arrived after a dawn marked by strong explosions in Caracas. Around 02:00 local time, residents of the Venezuelan capital reported detonations, aircraft overflights, and an unprecedented military deployment at different strategic points in the city.

Numerous videos that showed explosions and aerial movements over Caracas began to circulate on social media. According to those recordings, attacks on key military installations such as the La Carlota air base and the Fuerte Tiuna complex, historically linked to the support of the Chavista regime, would have taken place.

Since the beginning of his administration, the Argentine president has maintained a firm stance against the dictatorships in the region, systematically denouncing Chavismo for human rights violations, political persecution, and the economic destruction of Venezuela.

With this statement, the Argentine government once again differentiates itself from the ambiguous positions that characterized previous administrations, which avoided clearly condemning Maduro's regime. In contrast, the current administration presents itself as aligned with Western democracies and with an international agenda based on the defense of freedom and the rule of law.

Maduro's capture marks a turning point in the Venezuelan crisis and opens a completely new scenario for the region. While official definitions about the political future of the Caribbean country are awaited, Milei's message made Argentina's position clear: full support for actions that return freedom to the peoples of Latin America.
