The President backed the U.S. operation, described Maduro as a dictator, and supported President-elect González Urrutia
President Javier Milei expressed his full support for the operation carried out by the United States in Venezuela. He celebrated the capture of Nicolás Maduro and stated that the fall of the Chavista regime "is excellent news for the free world".
In statements to LN+, the head of state maintained that Argentina will support the position of Donald Trump's administration at the urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council. In addition, he emphasized that the Venezuelan people had no other way out in the face of a closed, fraudulent political system sustained by repression.
"Total support for the United States, total support for the U.S. motion. Venezuelans had no way out of this sinister equilibrium in which they were trapped", Milei stated, while he described the events as "excellent news for the free world".
"We are witnessing the fall of a dictator"
For the President, the capture of Maduro "means the fall of a dictator's regime". He also recalled that the Chavista leader "had been rigging elections", even after having been soundly defeated in the latest elections.
"We are witnessing the fall of a dictator", Milei insisted. In addition, he supported the actions of the United States by pointing out that Maduro "is a narco-terrorist" with international ties.
According to his explanation, the Venezuelan regime had drug trafficking as one of its main sources of financing, particularly through the Cartel of the Suns. This is an organization that was declared terrorist by the Argentine Government on August 26.
