President Javier Milei responded this Tuesday to criticism regarding his decision to hold a national broadcast this Thursday at 9 PM to address the Malvinas issue and defended the strategic importance that the historical claim of sovereignty has for Argentina.
Through his official X account, the president harshly criticized those who condemned the use of the national broadcast to address the issue and emphasized that it is a sacred and central cause for the country's interests.

“We announce a national broadcast for Thursday at 9:00 PM on a sacred topic for Argentinians like the Malvinas cause, a historical claim of the Argentine people that to this day continues to see its national sovereignty violated,” Milei expressed.
The President also questioned what issue could justify a national broadcast if not the dispute over the islands. “What cause could be more important and strategic for the vital interests of the Nation than the Malvinas cause?,” he posed.
The presidential reaction came after various sectors criticized the announcement made hours earlier by the Government. Milei responded by labeling the vast majority of his critics as “human garbage” and accused them of attacking the national administration even in the face of an issue related to Argentine sovereign interests.
“If this topic, which they are completely unaware of, does not warrant a national broadcast, what topic would?,” he added.
Finally, Milei reaffirmed the position his Government will take regarding the Argentine claim. “We will continue to defend the interests of the Argentine Nation with nails and teeth, regardless of who it may upset,” he concluded.
The national broadcast had been confirmed this Tuesday by presidential spokesperson Adrián Ravier, who informed that the message is being prepared by Milei along with Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and the State Intelligence Secretariat (SIDE).

The presidential intervention will coincide with a particularly sensitive moment for the Malvinas issue. On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated before reporters in the Oval Office that his administration is reviewing its positions when asked about Washington's historical stance regarding the Islands. “I always review all positions. That is just one among many,” he declared, generating significant international uproar.
Milei had already described those statements as a matter of enormous relevance and defined the Malvinas as “the most important and sacred cause we Argentinians have.” Now, in light of the criticism regarding the national broadcast, the President decided to double down on that position and place the defense of the Argentine claim at the center of his response.
