The Government of Javier Milei announced this Tuesday a reorganization in the leadership of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina S.A., after the transfer of the company's shares from the Secretariat of Energy to the orbit of the Secretariat of Nuclear Affairs.
The measure was announced by the Secretary of Nuclear Affairs, Federico Ramos Napoli, after the holding of an assembly that appointed a new Board of Directors, with a mandate focused on operational safety, the completion of the life extension of Atucha I and the incorporation of private capital.
Ramos Napoli himself communicated the decision through the social network X, where he detailed the strategic objectives of this new stage. “I'm pleased to announce that today we held an assembly to appoint the new Board of Directors of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina S.A., which will have the mandate to uphold the highest standards of safety and operation, complete the incorporation of private capital, and conclude the life extension of Atucha I”, stated the official.
In the same message, he thanked the outgoing leadership and stated: “I thank the management of the outgoing Board of Directors and I wish them success in their next challenges”.

The presidency of the new Board of Directors was assigned to the biochemist Juan Martín Campos, whom Ramos Napoli described as one of the main nuclear safety specialists in the country. Campos has more than 20 years of experience in the sector and participated, from the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ARN), in the licensing of Atucha II and the RA-10 reactor.
He also served as President and Safety Manager of Dioxitek and developed his career in areas related to Radiological Protection, Nuclear Safety, and Nuclear Reactors and their Fuel Cycle.
He also carried out training at the Department of Energy (DOE) of the United States and represented Argentina before the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in meetings on business models for small modular reactors (SMR). “Nucleoeléctrica Argentina will have as President one of the most specialized people in nuclear safety and radiological protection in the Argentine Republic”, stated the Secretary.
The vice presidency will be held by engineer Martín Porro, current President of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA). Porro has almost three decades of experience in nuclear activity and is a reactor specialist. Among his background, his role in the commissioning of Atucha II stands out, where he was responsible for the mechanical nuclear systems on behalf of CNEA.

The Board of Directors will also include doctor Diego Chaher, a lawyer with master's degrees in Business Law and in Business Administration, who currently heads the Agency for the Transformation of Public Companies. According to the information provided, his role will be aimed at ensuring the progress of the partial privatization process of the company.
Another member will be engineer Diego Garde, current Site Manager of CNA I-II and primary person responsible for the complex. With more than 20 years of experience at Nucleoeléctrica, his role will be focused on the progress of the life extension of Atucha I, one of the central pillars defined for this new stage.
The list is completed by doctor Javier Grinspun, appointed by CNEA. Grinspun serves as Legal Manager of the Commission and has more than a decade of experience in administrative and corporate law within public companies, and his contribution will be key to the corporate transformation process that Nucleoeléctrica Argentina is undergoing.
The announcement concluded with a message of support for the appointed team and the course set. “Thank you all very much for your commitment in facing this great challenge. Let's get to work”, concluded Ramos Napoli, marking the formal beginning of a new leadership in the company responsible for operating the country's nuclear power plants.
