The Government of Javier Milei announced a modernization plan that will cover 13 airports in different provinces, with a total estimated investment of 500 million dollars.
The announcement was made by the Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni, during a press conference at Casa Rosada, where he emphasized that the project is part of the process to reactivate the air transport sector promoted by the administration of Milei.
Adorni explained that "as a result of the coordination between the Aeropuertos Argentina concessionaire and the regulatory body of the National Airport System, 15 projects will be carried out at 13 airports in the country, with a total investment of 500 million dollars."

According to his statement, the airports included in this modernization phase will be Aeroparque, Río Grande, Río Gallegos, Ezeiza, Formosa, San Rafael, Salta, Iguazú, Resistencia, Tucumán, Córdoba, Bariloche, and Mendoza.
The projects involve comprehensive interventions in both infrastructure and services. The Chief of Cabinet listed that the work includes "the construction of terminals and/or their remodeling and expansion, improvements to runways and pre-boarding areas," which will increase operational capacity and improve the passenger experience at each of these strategic airports.
The official also noted that during the current year, more than ten projects have already been completed at various airports in the country, including San Juan, Viedma, Comodoro Rivadavia, Termas de Río Hondo, Río Cuarto, Aeroparque, and Ezeiza.
The accumulated investment for those projects reached 156 million dollars. According to his explanation, these interventions are part of a policy of openness and greater freedom for the private sector, which has helped boost the air transport supply.
In this regard, Adorni highlighted the growth in air traffic recorded during the first ten months of 2025. "As a result of the reactivation of the commercial sector in Argentina, which gave more freedom to the private sector to invest and define its operations, and to Argentinians more flights at better prices, between January and October 2025, more than 41.5 million people traveled through airports across the country; a historic record that exceeds by 8% the previous maximum reached in 2019, and by 13% the figures from the previous year, 2024," he specified.

The Chief of Cabinet also added that there are currently 30 direct international flights from the country's interior, without passing through Buenos Aires. According to his statement, these services "had 21% more passengers compared to the same month last year, and 54% more than in October 2023." Furthermore, according to data from the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), "the country's interior is seeing record peaks at its airports every month."
Finally, Adorni stated that the investment plan aligns with the Executive's objectives to advance a comprehensive improvement of the air transport system. "These investments are another step forward so that all Argentinians, from every corner of the country, can travel better," he concluded.
