In recent hours, various media outlets have spread false information about the alleged "reduction of functions" at the National Cancer Institute (INC) and the suspension of the purchase of essential opioids for the treatment of cancer patients.
In response to these false claims, the Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, countered the malicious statements and assured that all programs and oncological medications are fully guaranteed by the Government of Javier Milei.
Lugones was categorical in stating: "All programs and medications are guaranteed by the Ministry of Health. No oncological program has been suspended nor will be suspended".

He also clarified that the purchase of opioids like morphine and methadone is the responsibility of each public hospital and that there has been no interruption in their supply.
"It's enough to ask public hospitals if there have been shortages. The answer is NO. They didn't request more because they had stock. Moreover, no provincial minister complained about the lack of these supplies in the COFESA", he explained.
The minister also addressed the need to improve efficiency in the administration of INC resources and other health areas, denying any attempt to "dismantle" the organization.
