Within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the Delegación de Asociaciones Israelitas Argentinas (DAIA), President Javier Milei delivered a speech with strong geopolitical, identity, and moral content this Wednesday, in which he reaffirmed the unconditional support of his government for the State of Israel and announced that Argentina will have "zero tolerance for antisemitism" under the guidelines of current legislation.

From the Teatro Colón, before a hall filled with officials, diplomats, and leaders of the Argentine Jewish community, Milei defined his position as "a starting point to deepen cooperation between Israel and the entire region around essential values and objectives, such as freedom and the fight against terrorism."

Marking a complete break with previous administrations, he delivered one of the most significant phrases of the night: "While other governments made deals with Iran to cover up terrorist attacks on Argentine soil, we make deals with Israel to fight terrorism and antisemitism."

Accompanied by the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, the president was recognized for his commitment to the defense of Israel and his fight against antisemitism by the president of DAIA, Mauro Berenstein, the Israeli ambassador to Argentina, Eyal Sela, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Pablo Quirno. The presence of Foreign Minister Sa’ar gave the ceremony a marked international tone, reaffirming the new role the government seeks for Argentina in global politics.

Milei asserted that Argentina will be "the pioneering country in the defense and promotion of these agreements together with the United States", noting that the new strategic alignment is based on shared principles: freedom, truth, and the defense of the West. He emphasized that "now more than ever, it is necessary for the free world to rise together against the threats to freedom that seek to rear their heads."

In one of the most critical passages toward the international community, Milei denounced the global abandonment of Israel: "Israel is not fighting against a reasonable adversary, but against an enemy with genocidal will and capacity." He added: "While the vast majority of the free world decided to turn its back on the Jewish State, we extended our hand."

He also highlighted the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in the Middle East conflict:
"Thanks to the bravery of Israeli soldiers and the unwavering support of President Trump, today all the hostages who were still alive are back in their homes."

The President also referred to the bilateral memorandum that seeks to strengthen ties between Israel and the region, emphasizing: "We hope this memorandum will serve not only to strengthen our bilateral relationship with Israel, but also as a starting point to deepen cooperation around essential values, such as freedom and the fight against terrorism."

For Milei, Israel represents the hard core of Western values: "Israel is a radical example of all these values that made the West great." He asserted that supporting the Jewish State is a moral and strategic duty for Argentina: "Supporting Israel is necessary for our country, because it means supporting the values that made us great 100 years ago."

In closing, the president called for a renewed commitment to truth and the defense of the principles that underpin Western democracies: "We must redouble our commitment to good and truth, both inside and outside the country."
