The national government announced the expansion of the discount program for retirees and pensioners, an initiative that already benefits more than 7 million older adults across the country. The scheme, implemented by the Ministry of Human Capital in coordination with ANSES, strengthens the purchasing power of the retired class without generating expenditures for the State, since the discounts are absorbed by businesses and financial institutions.
From the department headed by Sandra Pettovello, officials emphasized that the measure not only guarantees direct relief for retirees' finances, but also stimulates mass consumption, creating a virtuous cycle for the retail sector.

In this context, a new private bank was added to the remunerated accounts and financial benefits program, expanding savings and yield opportunities for those who receive retirement payments.
Discounts at supermarkets and pharmacies
The discount plan includes nationwide chains such as Disco, Jumbo, Vea, Coto, La Anónima, Josimar, Carrefour, and Día, with discounts ranging from 10% to 20% depending on the category. Among the most notable benefits:

Coto and La Anónima: 10% general discount with no cap.
Josimar: 15% in all categories, with no limit.
Carrefour: 10% with a cap of $35,000 per purchase.

Pharmacy discounts include medications and remedies, complementing the existing benefits of PAMI. In addition, some chains allow online purchases, while others apply discounts only in physical stores.
Access to these discounts is through the debit card associated with the retirement benefit. In addition, there is a 5% additional reimbursement for those who receive payments at Banco Nación, with a cap of $20,000 per month, valid at supermarkets such as Carrefour, Chango Mas, Coto, Josimar, La Anónima, Disco, Jumbo, and Vea.
Meanwhile, retirees who receive their payments at Banco Galicia can access savings of up to 25% and three interest-free installments on purchases with debit or credit cards. The benefit has a monthly cap of $20,000 at supermarkets and $12,000 at pharmacies and optical stores. Those who have a remunerated FIMA account also receive a daily yield with a NAR of 33.2%, with no amount limit.
Meanwhile, Banco Nación continues to offer a daily remuneration of 32% NAR on account balances up to $500,000, which serves as an additional incentive for retirees' savings.
The discount and benefits program was incorporated into the 2026 budget, which already includes a 5% increase in pensions and retirements above projected inflation, consolidating a comprehensive policy to restore the real income of older adults.
