President Javier Milei gave an interview on Antonio Laje's program on A24, where he analyzed the results of the legislative elections and outlined the next steps of his administration. "Argentines decided not to return to the past," he stated, referring to the rejection of Kirchnerism and the nonexistent proposals of the opposition.

"Two thirds of the country chose the path of prosperity, freedom, and growth. The worst is over, Antonio," Milei said, highlighting that economic indicators show improvement after months of strong fiscal consolidation.
"We made the largest adjustment in history and the economy is growing"
During the interview, Milei emphasized that his government carried out an adjustment equivalent to 15% of GDP, which—according to his explanation—allowed inflation to decrease, poverty to be reduced, and the economy to be reactivated. "They told us we were going to sink the economy and we ended up with GDP growing 6.6% year-on-year," he asserted.
"We talked about a V-shaped recovery, and in the end it was a check mark because the data improved faster than expected," he remarked ironically.

The president insisted that the recovery was halted by Congress's "torpedoing": "While politics did not get in the way, it was expansive. When they started to sabotage fiscal balance, country risk skyrocketed and activity stalled." "If you are running like Usain Bolt and you stop suddenly, you hit the wall. That is what they did from Congress," he illustrated.
Reforms and new stage of government
When asked about upcoming reforms, Milei confirmed that his administration is working on tax, labor, and pension changes. He announced that the new package will be presented after the renewal of Congress in December.
