The Minister of Security of the Nation, Alejandra Monteoliva, announced that the Government of Javier Milei has already deported more than 20,000 illegal immigrants since November 2025, including foreign individuals expelled, rejected, or inadmitted while attempting to enter or remain in Argentina.
This figure represents the success of the migration control and security policies implemented by the libertarian administration.
The tightening of controls includes various situations related to the entry and stay of foreigners in the country. Among them are border rejections, deportations, the detection of false documentation, and migration controls in different areas of the country.
The statement from the Ministry of National Security
Among the groups of foreigners expelled by the Government are those referred to as “false tourists.” These are individuals who are immediately denied entry when attempting to enter Argentina under the tourist category but fail to demonstrate economic solvency, accommodation reservations, or a genuine intention to engage in tourist activities.
On the other hand, there are direct expulsions. This group includes illegal immigrants who committed crimes within national territory or who already had judicial or administrative expulsion orders.
The scheme implemented by the Government is not limited solely to border crossings and airports. The operations have also extended to various points across the national territory through migration controls, where authorities seek to identify foreigners who are illegally in the country.

These interventions are carried out in areas with a high concentration of people and businesses. Recent operations include those conducted in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Retiro.
The strategy, therefore, combines controls conducted at the time of entry into the country with subsequent procedures aimed at verifying the migration status and conditions of stay of foreign citizens.
Monteoliva's announcement thus marks a new assessment of the strong and successful measures applied by Javier Milei's administration regarding migration control since November 2025, with over 20,000 immigrants deported.
