The diva addressed the scandal that arose on her show last weekend

One week after Ricardo Darín caused a stir on La noche de Mirtha by mentioning the high price of empanadas, Mirtha Legrand herself decided to speak out about the topic that went viral and sparked an unexpected debate.

During the opening of her show broadcast this Saturday on El Trece, "la Chiqui" took advantage of the presence of her guests — attorney Fernando Burlando, singer Jairo, journalist María Julia Oliván, and journalist Hugo Alconada Mon — to address the controversy surrounding the star of El secreto de sus ojos. "Poor Darín, they've torn him apart, poor thing. What was so wrong about it?" she said, visibly puzzled by the tone of the criticism circulating on social media and in the press.

La Chiqui also revealed an unexpected detail: she stated that at the time of the interview, she hadn't heard the comment that triggered the scandal. "I asked him 'How do you see the country?' and he started talking, but he lowered his voice and his head a bit, and I didn't hear him when he mentioned the 48,000 pesos (105.8 pounds)", she confessed, laughing.

The actor's statements had caused a stir due to his reference to the price of a dozen empanadas that, according to his account, cost him 48,000 pesos (105.8 pounds). Social media users quickly replied with memes, comments, and analyses about whether the amount was real or exaggerated, questioning the actor's "lack of awareness" regarding everyday economics.

However, Legrand didn't hesitate to support him. "He's number one. He's famous worldwide. Nowadays, he's the most important Argentine actor internationally and we care for him deeply", she emphasized firmly. She also highlighted her personal history with the actor: "I've known him since he was a child, I knew his parents. He's extremely proper and very polite", she added, while her guests at the table applauded her remarks in approval.

However, the truth is that a large number of people were able to verify on social media that the price the actor mentioned was absurd and that, thanks to the wide range offered in Javier Milei's market, empanadas of all kinds, flavors, and prices are available for every diner.
