The journalist refused to go to the program 'A la Barbarossa' and received a sanction from the channel. What was her justification?

Amid a week filled with media tensions, Telefe decided to suspend Nancy Pazos, a panelist on "A la Barbarossa," after she was absent from the show following Mariana Brey's interview with President Javier Milei.

The measure caused a stir in the media and sparked a debate about personal boundaries in television journalism.

Nancy Pazos did not attend Georgina Barbarossa's morning show on the day an interview with President Milei, conducted by her colleague Mariana Brey, was aired. According to reports on social media, Alejandro Castelo revealed that the journalist refused to participate that day in disagreement with the content of the interview.

The absence that triggered the sanction

Santiago Sposato was more emphatic, sharing that Pazos allegedly said: "I'm not going because the interview seems vomitive to me." This stance raised alarms within the channel's production.

The reaction was swift. According to Sposato, Telefe's production decided to remove Nancy from the program for the entire week as a disciplinary measure.

Nancy Pazos's response on her radio show

Hours later, on "Intrusos" (América), several panelists expanded on the information. Karina Iavícoli stated that Nancy had explained: "I'm not going because I don't want to ruin the interview with my opinions." Andrea Taboada added another version: "She said she didn't want to be part of the show."

Marcela Tauro was even more direct: "She was suspended for a week. They say she cursed at all the producers."

The journalist expressed her thoughts on the matter on her show on Radio 10. There she acknowledged feeling uncomfortable with the situation. "I didn't go because of my own discomfort and not wanting to mess up, not wanting to shoot myself in the foot," she commented.

Pazos also confessed that the channel tried to convince her to go: "It was my responsibility, but I wasn't up to it. I could have ended up making mistakes, and I don't want to do that because I have a lot of respect for the place where I work."

Additionally, she hinted at some resentment toward Mariana Brey by saying: "When you're chosen as an interlocutor, it's for a reason."

A confirmed suspension

Finally, Pazos herself confirmed the sanction she received: "The channel asked me not to be on the program for the entire week. I'll return next Monday as if nothing happened, I hope."

With this decision, Telefe sought to set internal boundaries without losing sight of the public exposure of the conflict. Meanwhile, the audience remains alert to how the panel will readjust and whether there will be new repercussions and if the journalist will return or if the separation will be final.
